BIG BALL LANE- Summer Doo
« on: July 02, 2015, 04:49:07 pm »
BIG BALL's Lane

This lane is one that I have pencilled in for the Summer Doo....
;) ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D
Now the question is - Will you all want to include it, as I' am conscious of the various degree of skill, and what you want to get out of a green lane....

BIG BALL's Lane has both the beautiful views across the outstanding natural beauty of the area, and the challenge to test your machine, and make your bum twitch also....

The view..

Now the down side of this lane is both the entrance is chewed by moto cross tracks, and " Challenge Champs"... , although it is passable by going a bit to the side..I would say that this should be a dry weather road, as it is across some peat at the start/Exit.

I don't think it is any worse that a one we will be doing( the one with my 109 in the ditch) for those that did it last year

This is the other end entrance

Now I have walked the 2-3 mile route, and I think it is a good lane, that duly needs to be approached with care, but one to remove from your bucket list... Its not a well known...

Why have I called it BIG BALLs Lane- Well, one to keep the knowledge of it to a minimum and secondly- the challenge it has.
The road does pass quite close to the edge.

But look at this drop.... BIG BALLS Needed and care- thats right, 8inch from the edge of the road..

You need to make sure your wheel is placed correctly to get over this little bump.

...

Now I hope I have wet your in hero's appetite  , and would like me to include or drop it, from the route- Currently I have it in on the loop section...

If this was marked on the Cumbria map, it would be classed as a red rating...

So please, those of you coming to the summer doo in Alston, can you indicate with a response if you would be up for this to be included. I have it going down the hill, as gravity will help a bit...

Please post below your thought's !!!! ;D ;D

I'm definitely up for that  8)

even with my lack of talent  ::)

I bet benson is 'busy' and misses that one  ;D

admin note - I hope with all these new members I can find some one new to make fun  of for a bit  ;)  I think benson has had his fair share by now (just don't tell him yet  :-* )
it's a tough job - but someone has to do it
