Trophy 🏆 several sorted, awards on the Sunday
Weather sorted, prepare for all four seasons
Loads still to sort but it's coming together now
See you there
-
The Gay spokes are actually the way out board ie zero off set so the higher tyres have not reduced my turning circle.
Same as forward control rims and no where near as expensive
-

May also stop my rear step and tow hitch grounding , mind I will need a bunk up to get in it if it is anywhere but on a level road.
-
looks great, and an extra inch in height. :o
Hope we do not hav too test them in great depth, but some lanes are a bit muddy...
Proper job :)
-

750 16 Michelin XZL's will give me better ground clearance and hopefully good traction.
-

;)Its in my front garden. ::)
PM me for directions- :o- if you do no have them already.... Just to avoid being shot as a tresspasser 8)
Limited flat ground, first come first served- mind the executive area is flat -ish as this is an old track if you want to be on your own.
-

What's the agenda for the weekend. I.E. What time do we turn up? What day(s) are we going laning and when are we playing in the quarry.
Well, by all accounts- some are arriving on Friday tea time onwards, get them seleves settled in like. ;D
Others is Saturday am.
Lane's will be setting off between 10.30ish, and hope to be at Killhope Mine cafe fro a stop off.. Pack lunch and nibbles is down to your budget, as some like to eat on the go etc. Toilet stop and cafe at mine though :D..
Sunday there will be a stop at hartide for the usual picture and toilet break etc.
Play when you want in our make shift trails course- nothing to challenging for your foot :). Friday night/sat am to kill time, or when ever back at camp.
If you have a grill bar or some thing like that I have some sirloin steak for sat pm, but how we cook and with what you nibble with it, iam not sure yet- pot noodles all round.. As yet, not sure on numbers.
Its up in the air..
Nowt fancy, just hope the weather holds

What's the agenda for the weekend. I.E. What time do we turn up? What day(s) are we going laning and when are we playing in the quarry.
Also Refs. Will I need to pack a suitcase of sarnies for eating on the trail or are we planning on stopping at cafes etc?
And whats the plan for drinks and base camp meals?? I take it you want something for the brew?? Will we need to bring extra and are we doing camp meals or just self provide?
Thanks

^^^^^^^
Ha ha ha, can't wait.........although I might be in a Disco unless I get gearbox sorted, but even a Disco is better than the oh so Dora........
-
Count your self lucky, I'm coming in the explorer
Ermintrude isn't going to be ready so it's dora time instead
Well folks- That the weekend entertainment sorted- Tacke the P155 out of the ford !!!!!!
-
Count your self lucky, I'm coming in the explorer

-
I'll be there in the boingy, sorry, :(
On the plus side I've got big hefty heli lift strops (these ones won't break!) and a powerful Td5 under the bonnet so I'll be able to pull anyone along.
Looking forward to it!!
"It's the final countdown, do do do doo, do do do do doooo, do do doo doo do, na na nah nah naah naaaah nah na na nah naaah nahhhh!!!!"
(I'm quite happy if you hadn't realised)
-
Europe sang the final countdown!! Not bonjovi!!
-
Mine is a 1971 swb 2A on 6.00/16 tyres;
I think I will have to sit out the Bill Balls Lane from the look of the pictures (unless it goes thro as someones' trailer) (Must remember extra tow ropes)
Driving down fron Edinburgh area on the Friday morning, don't yet know where to arrive to, (could someone PM me where to please so I can find it on the map)
-
;D Now this is on one of the lanes- down side is it's tight getting to it, so shiney new disco's would not fit.
Just the width of a defender/ series landrover.
Any ideas on what is turning up- all proper leaf sprung and the odd boigny ? :o :o
Two weeks to go..... (Bonjovi moment its the final countdown)... :D
-
I have requested the Sunday off!
So hope so! Should see you lot the Saturday night though !!
-
Maggot or tent. I'm torn just like the side wall of the thing!
-
Told you he'd be busy :D
He looked at the pics of big balls lane and volunteered for work :D
Hope to see you for the crack at some point Benson
-
this is looking to be a very good event
unfortunately I think work is going to get in the way. the way my rota works plus I am having the following thursday friday off I believe ill be working the whole weekend but might see if I can have a run up on the sat night for a bit of banter. we will see!!
-
picked up the marker tape and some marker flags today for the quarry 8)
big thanks to 'moomoo' (from seriously series forum)
should make life a bit easier for finding your way about ;)
reading between the lines it looks like it'll be a good turnout
getting excited allready ;D ;D
-
Hotchey you had me a blond and big boobies ;D ;D
-
;) I deal with beer every day and get loads in. Quite in trend at the mo is a light beer.. hobgbolin gold, Pedigree new world etc...
DEpends on the brew mix- but if it was a light texture in colur( larger style) I would sugest the phrase of
"Gopher Blond and the badge coudld depict a Gopher with a choice of two birds, and the blond with big boobies...
Not sure how that would fit with a cumbrian thing, unless she had a tight top with the bull and grifin thing in a landie, like the logo...
Just sayin like- I can bring quite a few badge examples for insperation....
Heat is killing my spelling..
-
Thinking of the brew side of things I think naming it after gopher is a good idea !
How about
" The gopher and the theif " ? Like the joker and the theif
-
You can count me in for this one ;D
I'll probably be kipping in the back of the Landy so stick me anywhere.
-
The camping area will be divided into different areas and different types
These are the vip area, the cheap seats, the penthouse suite and riff raff corner
Please specify which site you would like as first choice
BTW the names do not accurately describe each area
Somewhere I can get me bloody tent pegs out of will be fine for me (obviously it will be in the riffraff section somewhere, I wasn't really expecting a choice to be honest)
-
Dear Mr CCLAdmin
I hope this finds you well. I am most sorry to have to inform you that following a change of plans I will now be able to attend the weird dale bash at the end of July, yippee. I am aware this may cause you some concerns ;D but hope it is not too late make a reservation ::)
Can't wait
BTW just had a thought for the name of the beer, how does "Gophorit" sound in memory of Gordon??
-
The bad news was me & the family were going to be going away on hols on the Saturday so it weren't looking good.........however Mrs Puddlejumper and me have had a change of plan and instead of goin down saarrff for our jollies we are going to stay nearer home in Middleton in Teesdale so I'm now looking like a dead cert for the weekend (hard luck lads ::)) properly looking forward to it whoopee
-
I think its getting there thanks Benson 8)
Just need the yeahs and neahs really to get the numbers
May need volunteers for various jobs but I think we have most things covered
It should be epic as ever and with the usual last minute panic and hope and a prayer we will get there
My panic is its mot time for ermintrude and it's not looking good
-
Are you guys needing anything else for the summer do?
-
Got your email with the Route Hotchy 8)
I think that they will love it
See you all there folks
-
Can't wait!! Looking forward to it. (Especially fords. I love a river crossing!)
Is the quarry finished?? if you need any more help let me know, I'm keen to help!
-
:) Right most of the route is now planned.... very easy crushed stone to some muddy areas with a ford or two...
There is some great spots for "David bailey's" among you...Bring your vid/camera etc... Two of the lanes I have not done before, and I may need a recci, before we traverse.. Not sure of the condition of the road.
A loop through 3 counties of Cumbria, Northumberland and Durham.. Centered around the most beautiful part of the world that is Alston. 20 days or so and it will here.. :P
-
I like what your on about lol
-
Some things brewing?
Have received a strange offer
Can't say much at the moment
Watch this space
-
I'll be too drunk to care so stick me in the riff raff corner with a 2 man tent.
-
The Pic is Bob Scotts Bothy near Derry Lodge just north Of Breamar.
A quality spot to do some drinking around a fire with some like minded hill walkers.
-
Well, seeing as you replied so soon and with a quality picture you may have the presidential suite with a large flat and raised secluded area
-
Just a bit of flat ground for me I am too old for rolling off me kip matt.
Have a large 1 man tent.

All sorted for me, tent, cooking stuff a shovel. Looking forward to it. Shame I'll be in a dirty coiler.
The series is now in hundreds of bits in my shed, shame i can't bring it along.
You can call it progress kinda...
-
Right, a bit of forward planning for those who are coming this year
Get your place booked ( obviously)
Sort tent and sleeping bag
Some things to cook and some thing to cook it with
Seating, tables and crockery, all needed
Toilet, fetch a porta potti or a shovel
Torches and solar lights all needed, it gets dark
Cameras and video cameras, always needed
Warm weather gear and cold weather gear
Beers and wine, choose your own
So get planning, get your name down, get there
-
We are coming, B&B booked, so the rain clouds should be over the B&B rather than the camping site!
-
guys,
work is been a pain at the moment so probably wont get to camp over but will come up for some banter and maybe get one day off I hope! work is not fun at all¬
-
"it is worth noting that some of the best fun is had at the campsite and during the 'festivities'"
Understood but herself is a Rain Goddess when camping.
There are Sunny resorts in the world that are alleged to pay her money not to go camping there!
-
Trying to sell herself on the idea of coming down for this, is there a B&B nearby?
I know a nice one at Westgate but a bit far to be able to join in any of the evening.
hotchy should be able to help with that ;) local knowledge and all that 8)
it is worth noting that some of the best fun is had at the campsite and during the 'festivities' - most of which doesnt get posted up on here as such (usually by consent ;) )

right its planning time ::)
this time - food
i'm thinking of setting up a camp kitchen and doing catering this year ::)
thinking of a breakfast for the saturday and for the sunday
also an evening meal for the saturday
breakfast easy enough - fry up with all the trimmings 8)
evening meal ? could do a stew ? , possibly a curry/rice ?
anyone up for it , any suggestions ?

;D 10 weeks away give or take a few....
Caravan's limited space, so name down soon as( might pop a couple on the drive)for those unsure about towing up a grass hill. ;D
Tents- plenty of space, but some area's can be on a slight slope- or on the old track is semi flat...( rock pegs recomended)
Bush Craft:- plenty of space in the woods if you want to camp under the stars.. ;)
Toilets :- shovel can be provided, or use the pub ones....Water I can fill up cans if needed, but its from the well, so good old spring water....No clorine rubbish... Spar and Co-OP open till 10pm, if need supplies.
Dogs:- next to a woking farm, with sheep in the field on two sides( might be the odd ram in the field also)along with rabbit.
You can have 4 seasons in a day here, so bring some warm clothes for the night, any questions or if you need a reccy of the field- just give me a shout..... :)
-
Date ???
